The Quiet Editor is an independent writer and editor that works with artists, designers, and writers to shape clear, considered texts. Launched in 2022, currently based in the UAE.
About The Person
I’ve been working with words for over a decade—editing, writing, and helping people get to the heart of what they’re trying to say. I started out proofreading magazines, then moved into developmental editing for books, writing copy for small businesses, and shaping digital content for the arts. For eight years, I managed the online voice of an arts organisation.
In 2022, I launched The Quiet Editor as my writing and editing practice, mostly with artists, cultural workers, and people doing thoughtful, values-led work. I chose ‘Quiet Editor’ as I felt it described a person who enjoys being behind-the-scenes, in the shadows, without any fanfare.
Alongside this, I also work full-time in narrative strategy, developing public-facing stories for national projects across culture, education, and policy. That side of the work is bigger in scale, but at its core, it’s still about storytelling.
